From Sheffield to Carrboro, North Carolina
Emma’s story is one of reinvention, and the relentless pursuit of something more. Born and raised in Sheffield, England – Emma faced a landscape of dwindling industry and limited opportunities. “No jobs, no prospects,” she recalls. “It was a tough place to be.”
After a brief stint exploring the army as a career path, she found herself working for Camp America in Vermont. Soon after, her serendipitous path led her to the world of luxury hospitality, working for renowned resorts like Crowne Plaza and Loews, eventually landing in Orlando, and opening restaurants in their 5 star hotels.
Emma’s journey to North Carolina was filled with hope and new beginnings. As a single mother of two, she chose Cary as her starting point, but it was Carrboro where her family truly blossomed. Here, she met her husband and business partner, Younes, and together they built a beautiful family of six, welcoming two more children into their lives.
Tandem - A platform for connection
Emma’s vision is simple. In addition to running a successful restaurant, she wants to create a space where women can connect. Not the forced, business-card-swapping kind of connection, but the real, gut-level kind. A place where laughter echoes as loudly as the clinking glasses and conversation flows freely,
“We need this,” Emma says, her voice ringing with conviction. “We need a place where we can be ourselves, celebrate our successes, and vent about the challenges – without judgment.” She’s not just talking about business, she’s talking about life. The juggling act, the glass ceilings, the constant pressure to “have it all.” Emma gets it. She lives it.
Tandem is a hip, stylish space that reflects the women Emma wants to attract. It’s a place where you can let your hair down, kick off your heels and just be.
More than just a party
Emma’s providing a place where women can talk (or not talk – no pressure), laugh, connect, and leave feeling validated, supported, and ready to conquer the world. “This is about more than networking,” Emma insists. “It’s about building a community. It’s about reminding ourselves that we’re not alone.”
Emma’s curating an experience. Think DJ, dancing, bubbles, and some delicious food to fuel a revolution. Prosecco will flow freely (one free glass to get things started), an open bar will keep the spirits high, and the energy will be electric.
So, ditch the stuffy networking events. Forget the awkward introductions and the forced smiles. Emma’s calling. And she’s throwing a party you won’t want to miss. This is about celebrating women, supporting women, and raising a little hell along the way. Because sometimes, the best way to connect is to let loose, have fun, and remember that we’re all in this together.
