Settle Into the Season
Linger a little longer. Take a coffee or gelato from Autostrada’s counter, or a cup from Oasis, out to the Weaver Street Market patio and watch the leaves turn over the lawn.

Cooler nights call for good food and good company. Carrburritos, a Carrboro institution since 1997, is spending its first fall at the Mill.

Second Fridays (Oct. 9): Art Walk. Downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill stay open late with galleries, studios, live music, and spoken word. Start or end your loop at the Mill with a stop at My Muses Card Shop & Muse Art Gallery , Oasis Botanical Lounge and Coffee Shop, and dinner nearby.
October 15–17: West End Poetry Festival. Carrboro’s 21st annual poetry festival brings three free days of readings, workshops, and open mics to venues just steps from the Mill. Browse Golden Fig’s poetry shelves before or after a reading.
Saturday, October 31: Halloween. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which makes it a perfect day for costumed shopping and lunch at the Mill.
Costumes, Sorted
Mulberry Silks & Fine Fabrics has outfitted Carrboro’s makers since 1982, so start there if you’re sewing this year’s costume. Anna’s Custom Tailors can handle the fit. Ali Cat Toys has the fun stuff for little ghouls, and Gardenia Baby Blossom is ready for baby’s first Halloween.
